Despite being a java application, AVS is, for the time being, only supported on XP. Tests are being done under Linux, Vista, and other platforms, but those are not supported yet.
You can also request an evaluation license for free, which will enable all features during 30 days. Once the evaluation period has elapsed, AVS will fall back in Community version. We will provide in this time frame access to standard licenses through online paypal payement at a very reasonable price.
